Through the Youth Advocacy of Environment and Health (YAEH!) project, our goal is to empower youth workers, youth organisations, and young people to engage in effective advocacy by providing them with the necessary methods and techniques to actively use the knowledge gained in youth work and pass it on to others.
We aim to introduce advocacy to youth by focusing on the topics of environment and health. Although these issues have gained more attention in recent years, there is still insufficient emphasis on their interconnectedness. Hence, our project seeks to increase awareness, particularly among young people, that environmental and health issues are interrelated and that humans have a significant impact on them. After all, the environment we inhabit affects our health, and our actions influence the environment, which, in turn, affects our health again.
The project has the following objectives:
- Empowering youth workers in advocacy;
- Enhancing the knowledge level of youth workers on environmental and health issues;
- Raising awareness among young people on the significance of human influence on the environment and how the environment impacts human health (recognising the term "environmental health").
Project partners: Institute for Health and Environment, NYCA Bulgaria, CIM Horyzonty, CSV Belluno and Generation Echo.
The project is co-financed by Movit – nacionalna agencija programa Erasmus+ v Sloveniji.
Project duration: From 1 September 2020 to 31 October 2021
