Visiting the farmers' market is not only good for our health but also for the environment. During hot weather, it's beneficial to eat light and fresh food that is high in water content (1).
Fresh cucumbers, vegetable soup, or fruit salad are perfect choices for staying refreshed. By using fresh produce from the farmers' market and following other heat-relief measures, we can effectively combat heat stress.
If you want to support local farmers in the Ljubljana countryside and surrounding areas, you can find a list of over 90 of them through this link.
By buying locally grown food, we not only reduce our environmental impact but also enjoy high-quality meals that contribute to our overall well-being!
The Ljubljanski ledenik (Ljubljana Glacier) project is an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the significance, impact, and protection against heat waves. Discover more valuable content on posters strategically placed throughout the city centre and by visiting the following link. The project is co-funded by the Municipality of Ljubljana.
