The Institute for Health and Environment brings together the fields of health, the environment, sustainable development and active participation.
As part of the Veš, kaj dihaš? 2.0 project, we held a workshop for international professionals and youth workers at Impact Hub Ljubljana on 15 July 2026. Participants explored the connections between air quality, health and opportunities for action in local communities.
The workshop was designed around the principles of active learning. Expert information on air pollution was combined with practical exercises, discussions and the experiences of participants from different countries and professional backgrounds. The workshop also provided an opportunity to test the educational activities and air quality kits developed as part of the project. Participant feedback will help us further improve the materials and adapt them to the needs of different target groups.
The international composition of the group enabled participants to exchange different perspectives, experiences and examples from practice. They reflected not only on how individuals can protect themselves from air pollution, but also on how complex environmental and health issues can be communicated to young people in an accessible and engaging way.
The workshop therefore combined expert content with participatory methods that encourage observation, critical assessment of information, reasoned discussion and the development of solutions.
Well-designed educational activities can make air quality data easier to understand and apply in everyday life. Participants therefore gain not only knowledge about the issue, but also practical tools that enable them to respond thoughtfully and encourage others to take action.
